Roads: Large sections of roadways adjacent to U.S.-19 are currently flooded. Residents are advised to avoid the area. Some bridges still closed. Courtney Campbell Parkway East closed.
Gasoline: “Almost a quarter of gas stations in Florida don’t have gasoline,” said Patrick De Haan, Head of Petroleum Analysis at the gasoline analysis site GasBuddy. “In Tampa … 63% of stations don’t have gasoline right now,” he told NewsNation’s “CUOMO.” Once the storm passes, De Haan said it could be a few days, or it could be two or three weeks, before every gas station in western Florida can fill up. Carnival Paradise The ship’s next cruise, which was scheduled to embark on Thursday, Oct. 10, has been cancelled. The ship is back on schedule starting Oct 14th.
WATER: Waste Water plant compromised by flood waters but still up and running at a reduced capacity. Residents are asked to conserve water. Drinking water system is good.

Trains: Brightline trains will suspend service between West Palm Beach and Orlando all day Oct. 9 and Oct. 10 due to Milton. Amtrak: The train suspends service between Jacksonville and Miami through Thursday, Oct. 10.
Hotels: As expected, many hotels in Tampa are closed or not taking reservations. Some have reopened like the Barrymore.
Water/Sewer infrastructure: St. Pete Beach has deactivated all sanitary sewer line as of 0900, 8 Oct. Sanitary sewer lines will be completely offline until further notice. This is necessary to protect the city's water infrastructure. Plumbing will not function, flushing toilets will not work and no water access for cooking, cleaning or bathing.

Hurricane Milton Ciunty Update
Taylor County:
- Have a warehouse set up for donations
- Significant socially vulnerable population with over 1,000 major damaged homes - Approximately 200 cases for cleanup, with 30 new ones introduced yesterday
- Ongoing need for debris, muck-out, and lot clearance
- Reestablished multi-agency resource centers
- Received several truckloads of unsolicited donations
Sarasota County:
- Two shelters open with 266 people
- Ongoing damage assessments and mapping of impacted areas
- Four POD locations open with high traffic
- Providing basic commodities like water, ice, tarps, and food
- Many organizations providing mass feeding (Mercy Chefs, 8 Days of Hope, Salvation Army) - Still have a good number of people without power
Polk County:
- 19% of the county without power, delaying efforts
- About 28 schools without power
- Parks and Rec distribution pods, with a city of Lakeland pod active
- Team Rubicon assessing flooding in the northwest part of the county
Charlotte County:
- 24,000 still without power (per FPL)
- Three POD sites still open with high volume traffic
- Setting up three comfort stations
- Coordinating with VOAD partners, including Team Rubicon assessments
- Major focus on debris and muck-out, as mold is a significant hazard
Highlands County:
- Four tornadoes touched down, over $7 million in damage
- One shelter being taken over by Red Cross, 30-38% of homes without power

- Highlighted that funding is available for essential items, emergency supplies, repair, and replacement of damaged personal property.
(Lee County):
- Reported 3 shelters open, hopeful to consolidate to 1
- Completed first round of network-wide social service call-outs with 50 partners
- Identified pockets of need in Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers, Boca, Pine Island, and other areas
- County sending assessment teams to find unmet needs
- Online volunteer portal available, not doing community-wide donation intake
- Pushing messaging on disaster relief fund

- Finished search and rescue efforts, reduced shelters to 2 locations
- 296 in medical needs shelter, 122 in general population shelter
- Working with partners on transitional housing options
- Convoy of Hope staged at a local church to support Sarasota and surrounding counties
- Rotary partnering with local groups on distribution and volunteer work
- Widespread damage, lots of debris, impacting low-income and barrier island areas
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES- Volunteers are needed for debris cleanup, muck and gut work, and distribution efforts. - The county has an online volunteer portal where opportunities are posted.
(Hillsborough County):
- Damage assessments ongoing, more inland flooding than coastal impacts
- Reopening comfort stations, seeking donations and volunteers to staff them
- Potentially still opening Points of Distribution (PODs), waiting on details

(St. Lucie County):
- Significant tornado damage, many neighborhoods and businesses destroyed
- Internal coordination challenges with elected officials and churches trying to help
- Trying to manage donations and inventory, wrap head around recovery process
(Madison County):
- 48 evacuees hosted, backup shelter closed
- 3 people needing placement, 1 disabled
- Tarping continues, need more support
- In contact with Big Bend COAD for long-term recovery involvement
- Comfort stations and PODs closed, donations trickling in
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES- could potentially use local chainsaw volunteers on Sunday or Monday when the AmeriCorps team is off.
STARFISH DISASTER RECOVERY- They are looking for equipment with grapple buckets to assist with their chainsaw work, tree/debris removal, tarping, and muck outs.
(Pasco County):
- Major concern over riverine flooding, some communities cut off
- Over 1,000 damaged properties, certain areas inaccessible
- Mucking and gutting likely needed, seeking organizations to assist
- 40% of county still without power, lodging options limited
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES- looking for organizations that can assist, especially those that are self-sufficient, as there are still 40% without power in parts of the county.
(Charlotte County):
- Damage assessments ongoing, 1 state-run shelter remaining
- 136 residents, may increase due to power outages
