Chapter History
Chapter 66 traces its origins back to 1994 when Joe Talan, an SFA member since 1989 teamed up with fellow members in the Long Island, NY area Doug Teubner, Tom Smith, and Rich Denninger to form the chapter.  They chose John Kedenburg for a chapter name as John was also a New York native.  Joe Talan became the original chapter president with Doug Teubner as Vice-President and Rich Denninger as Secretary.  The chapter initially held meetings at the Marine Reserve Center in Garden City, NY and participated in various veteran and community events in the greater Long Island area. Chapter member Keoni May began the publication of the chapter newsletter "The Ramp".  Upon Ron Bucca's passing chapter member Ed Nicholas began a years long campaign to add Ron to the chapter name. Ed and Ron served together in Signal Company 1st Bn 11th Group and Ron had not only been a chapter member but also served as president. Thanks to Ed's efforts on 8 Nov 17 the chapter officially became the Kedenburg-Bucca Memorial Chapter. With the changes in leadership over the years the chapter changed its meeting location to the West Point, NY area. The chapter has since gained members in Connecticut and expanded meeting locations throughout southeast NY and CT. Chapter 66 adopted North Rockland County and James O'Neil High School JROTC programs in NY and proudly presents the annual SFA Award to their cadets at their respective awards ceremonies. Ron Bucca's widow Eve is a legacy life member and executive director for Standfast Alliance where in partnership with Rising Starr Horse Rescue, provides therapeutic programs for veterans, 1st responders and their families. Ron Bucca Jr followed in his father's footsteps having served in both the 5th and 20th SFGs with multiple deployments in Iraq, Central Africa, and Lebanon. Ron Jr recently retired as a Master Sergeant. Our monthly meetings are open to all area SF veterans
